Despite progress in many countries, poverty remains a very real global problem. The World Bank estimates that around 20%, approximately 1 billion of the world’s population live on or below the international poverty line of $1.25 per day.
For many people, finding a way out of poverty is limited by their inability to borrow or access money and their limited understanding of basic financial education skills. Our financial education programs play an important role in helping to break the poverty cycle.
